【Editor's note】: The 10th China International Garden Expo is to be held in Wuhan from September, 2015 to April 2016, by MOHURD and The People’s Government of Hubei Province, and organized by the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, the Chinese Association of Parks, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province, and the People’s Government of Wuhan City.

The theme of the 10th Garden Expo this year is “Eco-Expo, Green Life”. Not divided according to geographic regions, the exhibition park will be arranged based on the following themes: “Landscape and Eco-Techniques”, “Landscape and Humanistic Arts”, and “Landscape and Happy Life”.

So far, the preparatory work is still in an all-round way. The parks and pavillions from all parts of China and foreign countries have taken shape.
New Zealand Pavilion
New Zealand: the country of sheep, the hometown of white clouds.

the national flower - koru

New Zealand, a country of livestock industry - sheep
What to see & do:
1. Koru, the national flower is painted on the ground with sheep and white clouds sculptures as the site logos.
2. Maori wood carvings are integrated into the venue, creating a garden of rich regional characteristics .
3. Zorb balls are availabel on the grassland. (note: Zorbing is the recreation or sport of rolling downhill inside an orb, generally made of transparent plastic.)


Japan Pavillion
What to see:

1. Heian period - prototype
In late Heian period (1170s), the garden style of Buddhism " pure land courtyard" was gradually formed.

2. Fedual preiod - developing
The garden styles of “shukkeien” and “abbot patio” was formed.

3. Muromachi period - upsurge
The garden style of “Karesansui” was formed.


Africa Pavillion
What to see:

1. With unique style and rich colours, the totem poles and carving stones inject the Africa Pavillion with strong African style and mysterious atmosphere of the Sahara desert.

2. The sculptural desert plants decorate the pavillion with a strong sense of region and unique beauty of plants, becoming the highlight and core attraction.


France Pavillion
What to see:

Bordeaux - style botanical garden.

Bordeaux - style botanical garden. It includes “habitat garden”, “agriculture garden” or test field, where the visitors could walk freely.
Designed by: Catherine Mosbach, a French garden designer with the most influence in the world.


Germany Pavillion
The Germany Pavillion is themed with industrial relics and beer bash, which are designed to display the country’s preciseness and openess, respectively.

Theme one: industrial relics
Design elements: landscape of post - industrial era

2. What to see & do: track, beer truck, beer-barrels, fairground, carnival, food stall, eating hot dog and sausage, drinking beer.
Theme two: drink spree.
Design elements: beer bash.
